We arrived in Cambodia a few days ago. We stay one month fixed in one place. This is really good for us as a family to be stationary in one place. Not always to pack our bags for the next location, but to feel a little not like tourists, does very good.
What's also cool is that we know some people here and can speak Swiss German again.
We also want to teach the kids a little bit about the history of the country. But our kids are very sensitive and don't tolerate such stories very well. And since a few days the terrorist attack in Israel is also very close...not even two months ago we were in this beautiful country. It hits us very differently, because we also met people on our trip who now have to send their sons and daughters to war...just crazy the whole thing. You don't even know what to say...here you can just pray 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
And then we sit here, enjoy the life in Cambodia and see the challenges that also this country brings with it: the poverty, the corruption, the lack of education and much more. Crazy what so many NGO's are doing here, really very remarkable. We can share our knowledge and hope that it bears fruit...for us it goes on sometime and we hope that also this country may experience a development in favor of the population.
Somehow we are overwhelmed with all these impressions, experiences, war, poverty and our wealth to be able to travel the world like this. We hope that we can pass on something positive to our boys, despite everything and to be a drop in the bucket in every situation.
