I love the pre-Christmas period in Switzerland.
The lights, the candles and the first snow give everything a festive atmosphere. The Christmas markets are simply magical, and the winter in the mountains with its glorious snow is perfect for skiing and snowboarding.
But this year everything is different. Here in Thailand, where we are in "winter", it is a pleasant 32 degrees. Nevertheless, there are already winter fashions in the stores, Christmas carols are playing and Christmas decorations are being put up.
I remember experiencing something similar in South Africa when we visited my sister in winter. Back then, it was only a few weeks before we went back to cold Switzerland. And now? Now I'm sitting here, enjoying my Starbucks caramel macchiato from the Christmas cup and relaxing by the pool in my bikini.
The boys want cooler weather in between, as it can get very hot here. But Australia is next on the agenda, and it's supposed to get pretty warm there...
Despite the different temperatures, I wish us all a peaceful pre-Christmas season, whether the weather is warm or cold!
